Design New England magazine will be featuring our award winning Sakonnet project and we couldn't be more excited! Gale Goff gets kudos for her inspired design and we get props for bringing it to life. We'll keep you posted when the issue hits the news stands.
Jacob Talbot Fine Homebuilders is pleased to partner with Dennis Talbot on another great project. This one is on a stunning piece of property on Buzzards Bay, with an inspired design by Chip Gillespie of Dyer Brown South Coast Architects. We look forward to breaking ground this spring.
Geothermal heating with photovoltaic panels on the solar barn will help the project achieve net-zero energy use! Together with DBVW and our terrific and uber-ecoconcious clients, we are thrilled to be a part of the project.
Jake completed the NAHB Green Building for Building Professional courses and has one more to go before certification. The program focused on incorporating green building principles without driving up construction costs.
We are enjoying the dynamic of working with a great team on an exciting project. Together with Dennis Talbot, we've broken ground on the first of a series of buildings designed by Doug Brown of Durkee, Brown, Viveiros, Werenfels Architects. We've begun with the outbuildings, starting with a solar barn, and look forward to the project as it unfolds.
We wish all our clients, partners, employees, subcontractors and friends a very happy and healthy holiday season.
We are so happy to have moved into our new office in Adamsville. We are across from the mill pond and next to the grist mill. Come visit us!
Congratulations to Jim Estes, Peter Twombly and everyone at the firm. Princeton Architectural Press just released "Yankee Modern: The Houses of Estes/Twombly". It is a beautiful book that showcases their award winning houses.
Jake attended a USGBC educational seminar on commissioning green buildings; in essence, assuring that all high performance systems and components of a building are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to operational requirements. He also had the pleasure of meeting Connie McGreavy, the head of the RI Chapter.
We are very excited to begin our next project so close to home. We are about to begin a total renovation and addition to a house in Pequahonk, Little Compton. With plans in hand from Walter Cass, Jr. AIA, and guidance from interior designer Susan Bishop-Wrabel, it looks like a great project.
